Africville had two sides. Up the Road was located where you now can visit "Seaview Park", while the other end was near in the area of Mackintosh St. and Bayne St. (some of those houses still exists despite the industrial expansion in the area of Mackintosh and Forrester Streets).
The majority lived in the area of where Seaview Park now is. Where Tibby's Pond was.
Where the church was and where the original settlement came about.
Like any village, it was a place of memories and happy times as well as hard times and sadness. Above all, it was your typical maritime seaside village.
Something that today would be a tourism destination, worthy of recognition.
That was home.
