The People

Tom MacDonald

Tom was born about 1890 and died around '57. He was a porter with the CNR (like a lot of men from Africville) and rode on the train with the King and Queen when they visited in '39.

Tom sang in the Cornwallis Street Church choir and was an active Mason. He moved from Africville to Truro, then back to Halifax on North Street before moving back with his mother Jessica to live out his life.

His sisters, Edith and Ida, were very supportive to him throughout his life.
