Mr. Byers

Commonly known as Mr. Byers, Howie Byers was blind and known to be very religious. Since he did not know who was in his 'audience,' he was seen on Sundays preaching a sermon on the rail crossing to his congregation.

Now this might be a few folk or even just the wind, but Mr. Byers was out there on most Sundays at 'round nine – giving time for most folk to get ready for church at eleven. While no one is sure when he was born, he was active at the crossroads in the ‘40s and ‘50s and he was in his 50s then.
